How We Came to Be

Our success is remarkable when you consider that our founder never planned a career in executive search. During his investment industry tenure, Paul Olschwanger frequently fielded calls from business associates who wanted to fill positions, and others who wanted to find new challenges. He discovered that he had a knack for matching the right person with the right position. As the number of calls increased, he created a database to keep track of them.

While investment management firms were outsourcing more placement work, traditional executive search firms weren't effective at serving the industry's needs. The Internet created an explosion of information for both companies and job-seekers, but executives didn't have the time to investigate candidates thoroughly. Either way, the result was inappropriate hires and greater turnover.

In 1998, after intensive research, Paul filled the gap by founding Olschwanger Partners, LLC. By bringing both a thorough understanding of the investment industry's needs and the ability to conduct thorough evaluations of candidates, Olschwanger Partners has given companies in the investment industry a search firm upon which they can rely.
